Our history
For 25 years in Melbourne’s south east, passionate and thorough staff here at Autotechnique have developed skills and styles to reflect all avenues of automotive performance for today. And we want to offer that to your next project.
Specialising in LS performance hardware and tuning, Autotechnique has used and trialled dozens of manufacturers and their products to bring you a flawless range of choice. Utilising hero product from VCM, Xforce, GM Performance, Magnuson and K&N – we can guarantee a package second to none – from a premium brand at a reasonable price.
Mario - having completed his automotive apprenticeship, his only employer acclaimed him as reliable, innovative, attentive and articulate. This along with passion and an innate desire to be the best in his field is what lead Mario to open Autotechnique circa 1992.
Partnering with a Porsche specialist, Autotechnique took residence in a small factory in Rowville in the south eastern suburbs of Melbourne, working on specific projects together but it was Mario’s passion for the 1980’s home grown manufacturer HDT that spurred him onto bigger and better things. Autotechnique etched its place in Australian history as one of the top HDT restoration specialists in the country with several concours d’elegance wins.
Technology was the next thing to keep Mario’s fire burning. Autotechnique could flourish with the benefits of a chassis dynamometer and with this the future was carved into the world of LS1 and tuning. This afforded Autotechnique growth and expansion. With better suited facilities and additional staff many doors were opened and Autotechnique was sought after by many, leading into partnerships with companies like Walkinshaw Performance to offer a full dealership option.
The establishment of Racesport – a newly established division of the Patterson Cheney group of companies whereby new Holden vehicles were offered a range of Racesport packages which were designed and executed at Autotechnique. These packages offered full factory warranty. Several hundred vehicles built over the next 3 years. Associations continued to flourish with further Holden dealerships with Autotechnique supplying packages for fitment to new vehicles.
The New Generation HDT vehicles were born and built exclusively by Autotechnique. An upgrade menu extending to creation & fitment of engines, superchargers, suspension & braking enhancements, full colour changes, engine bay adornments, complete interior upgrades and bespoke wheels.
Mario’s entrepreneurial skills continued with the establishment and growth of VCM Suite Australasia/VCM Performance. Autotechnique now prides itself to be part of the development, testing and fitment of the large VCM range of products which also include HP Tuners and Magnuson Superchargers Australia.
Packages put together by staff with grass roots in motorsport and street performance, an Autotechnique build will be carefully constructed to the highest of aftermarket standards.
